Come along to Beersheba Farm and enjoy the wool and the view!
This special day of activity is split into a morning of learning to sort (skirt) fleece and link fleece types with potential woolcraft usage and then a relaxed Spin-In with refreshments in the afternoon. Three options are available depending on your schedule – stay all day, just the morning or just the afternoon.
The fleeces will be a variety from the breeds here at Beersheba Farm so expect Beersheba Castledale, English Leicester, Drysdale and maybe a few surprises. Fleeces available for sale at discounted prices.
Please note: Maximum of 6 places available for the morning workshop.
Workshop name: Introduction to raw fleece & Spin-In afternoon
Date: Saturday 11th March 2023 9.30am – 3.30pm
Location: Beersheba Farm, 128 Castle Hill Rd, Moorngag VIC 3673
Cost: Option A: $50 (Workshop AND Spin-In)
Option B: $40 (Workshop only, leave at lunchtime)
Option C: $10 (Spin-In Afternoon only, arrive around 1pm)
Proposed Workshop Outline:
- Welcome & Introduction to Beersheba Farm – morning tea & a cuppa!
- Raw fleece: what’s what. Includes tutoring in “skirting” the lower quality fibre from a fleece and what faults to watch for (Approx. 2hrs. )
- Lunch (BYO)
- Spin-In afternoon – bring your wheel or knitting project for a low key craft and chat session which includes coffee and cake! (Approx 2-3hrs)
Special Notes:
Beersheba Farm is a work place. As such, there are some inherent hazards and participants are respectfully asked to follow all instructions from Beersheba Farm staff for safety reasons.
Fleece sorting will be outdoors (but undercover) so please bear that in mind if you need sun protection etc.
A minimum of two (2) participants will be required for the workshop to go ahead.
Cancellation & Refund Policy:
We understand that unforeseen things occur in our lives and sometimes changing our plans is unavoidable. We will do our best to fill your vacancy from our waiting list. If you cancel your booking before 3rd March 2023 we will refund the money you have paid (less a $50 administration fee). Please contact us if you have any concerns regarding cancellations and refunds.
We reserve the right to cancel the workshop. Should we need to do so you will be entitled to a full refund of your payments. However, we are not able to refund the cost of your accommodation or transport so please take adequate travel insurance if you would like to be feel more secure and covered.
