Description
What is ‘Friends of Beersheba Farm’?
Friends of Beersheba Farm is a subscription-based group for supporters of the sheep, wool and natural environment at Beersheba Farm in Moorngag, Victoria.
What does it involve?
The annual subscription helps to support the sheep and natural environment at Beersheba Farm in such a way that subscribers can also be involved and benefit directly. We’ve tried to make this subscription with a bit of scope so there are plenty of opportunities for subscribers to learn, experience and get closer to the processes.
COVID-19 has certainly put a dampener on the “in-person events” for 2020 as we are in Victoria but we aim to work around these impediments as best we can.
We’ve had many people ask if they can “sponsor a sheep” here at the farm. We’ve avoided this for a while (there’s a saying that “sheep invent ways to die” !) but have decided to build in a sheep-specific category – the NEW Chocolate Lily level.
If you choose this Chocolate Lily / Sheep Buddy option you can decide which Merino, Castledale, English Leicester or Drysdale lamb/sheep here at Beersheba Farm you want to sponsor! You will get updates on your sponsored sheep/lamb as well as up to a 1kg of their fleece at shearing time. Your sponsorship will help cover feed, maintenance and veterinary costs of your chosen sheep. [Please note that the web shop can’t handle such complexity so choosing a sheep / lamb will need to be done by email or phone once you’ve selected the Chocolate Lily option!]
Proposed On-farm & Online Events and Workshops for 2020/2021:
- Wool and woolshed workshops
- Sheep and breed workshops
- “Introduction to sheep farming” workshop
- Spin-In and craft days for the woolcrafters

- Nature days with tree planting, plant ID and more!
- Private shopping/spinning appointments
- Exclusively for Friends – “days” with BBQ, nature walks/photography, sheep ‘selfies’ & more
- Exclusively for Friends – Spin-Ins and workshops
Other benefits involve product discounts, exclusive access to sales, workshops and lamb “naming rights”!
Subscription levels are named after native trees & plants found on Beersheba Farm.
Subscriptions are valid for 12 months

- Chocolate Lily $100/yr (aka “Sheep Buddy”)
- Yellow Box $100/yr
